Altan led his army in search of the Var men as soon as the commotion erupted from the fourth chamber. He was the oldest sibling by three years, and a strong warrior in his own right. He was neither handsome nor ugly, but plain faced with flat features, and deep set black eyes. He still lacked the ruthlessness a true Kuruk leader required, and his father hoped that necessary characteristic would still develop in time. His strength was in his cunning nature, and he was a man who planned for the long game, unlike his headstrong sister. His mother was a concubine, and so many Kuruk considered him unworthy to succeed.
