Drest is a nod to the White Witch’s right hand dwarf, and sleigh driver in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Drest is fiercely loyal to Beira, and will follow her every command. He acts as Beira’s primary bodyguard, as well as recruiting the hard men to go on the northbound journeys to the Opplanda. 

Little is known about Drest’s origin. However, he does share his name with Pictish kings, the main influence for the Cathulla, so perhaps he is from the northern tribes himself.
