JoJo Dickens stepped into chapter one as fully formed as her spouse. While Mo played the role of harsh benefactor to the Grimm Twins and took them up a step on the paranga ladder, JoJo provided the love of a surrogate mother. With the cruel eviction by Cotter Sullivan, Jojo maintained her bond with Juan until he was forced out of Gastown by his twin. However, Carlos grew to resent his former patroness as his isolation and madness took hold.

Jojo is forced back onto the mean streets of the Slough, a life she led before Mo pulled her out from the gutter, and she plies the pickpocket trade once again. Prior to life in the Slough, she likely worked for a Swell Daddy or two in the Mutton where she learned the tricks of the trade to entice a man like Mo.  

Some inspiration for Jojo came from my paternal grandmother, a larger than life character in her own way.
