The young man in the Assameister Apprentice’s leathers, hair tucked under a cap, and kol dust on chops was replaced by a young lady in a yellow silk gown, flowing locks, and delicately placed rouge on cheeks. Josephine Willow, the apple of her father’s eye, his only surviving child would entertain for him tonight, and ensure his guests left the Willow abode with a favorable impression, and none the wiser for the Assameister’s subterfuge.
