Jaguar Drummel

Jaguar Drummel

The Slopmeister, or more officially the Etenmeister, stood at his self-designated place at the blackened steel door in the center of the west wall elevated over the unwashed patrons. The door was directly above a long chute, which started high on one side and ran down the length of the hall at a downward angle. The Slopmeister stood with his hand on a heavy lever on the door awaiting the allotted time. He was ramrod straight, with his chest puffed out, his other hand twirling an oversized waxed handlebar mustache. His chef’s green toque hat was perched proudly on his head like a stuffed exotic bird, and his green apron was sharply pressed and immaculately clean. A large wooden spoon, bestowed on him by the Dux herself, stood proudly at attention from his breast pocket. It was a symbol of his culinary authority, though he never actually cooked. He fed the people by Dux largesse, an honor bestowed after years of service in the Red Shadows. Jaguar Drummel and no one else controlled the food source.
